China will control the solar supply chain for a long time.

According to a research released , China will have more than 80% of the world’s capacity for manufacturing solar energy until 2026 and will be able to meet the yearly demand for solar energy for the majority of the next ten years.

The prediction from energy research firm Wood Mackenzie is released at a time when countries like the US and India are subsidising their own solar energy production in an effort to lessen their need on Chinese products in order to meet their clean energy targets.

However, the report stated that China has made more than $130 billion in investments in the solar sector this year and that by 2024, it would have more than a terrawatt of solar wafer, cell, and panel capacity online. That will cover the yearly world demand until 2032.
