LONGi stated that their crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells had achieved a new world record of 33.9% efficiency. The NREL verified this.

For the first time, the Shockley-Quieser (S-Q) theoretical efficiency limit of 33.7% for single-junction solar cells has been reached with this new record efficiency of 33.9%. This offers significant empirical evidence to support the superior efficiency of crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells over crystalline silicon single-junction solar cells.
