LONGi Achieves 27.30% Efficiency

LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has set a new world record by achieving a 27.30% power conversion efficiency for its heterojunction back-contact (HBC) solar cells. This milestone was certified by Germany’s Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH) and was announced during the launch of their Hi-MO 9 module series.
This achievement surpasses the previous record of 27.09% set by LONGi in December 2023. The company’s research team utilized an innovative laser-enhanced contact optimization process, which reduces parasitic light absorption and improves passivation, resulting in enhanced efficiency. Additionally, this method streamlines the manufacturing process, making it approximately one-third more effective than traditional technologies like PERC and TOPCon.
