Maxeon Reshapes Strategy to Prioritize U.S. Market

Maxeon Solar Technologies is restructuring to focus solely on the U.S. market. As part of this strategy, the company has signed a five-year lease for a 2 GW solar panel manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, set to begin operations in 2026. Maxeon has also reached an agreement to sell its sales and marketing operations in EMEA, APAC, and LATAM, as well as its Philippines manufacturing, to TCL Technology Group, which will form TCL SunPower International. These moves aim to strengthen Maxeon’s U.S. presence while creating a global solar solutions business under TCL Group. CEO George Guo emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its U.S. residential, commercial, and utility-scale customer base.
